In 2016, I traded my home, my vehicle, my job, and life as I knew it for the freedom and flexibility of freelancing. Born and raised in Saskatchewan (Canada), I am now living in Victoria (Australia) and have little more to my name than a suitcase, a laptop, and a brain brimming with ideas.
I am the Principal (read: word nerd) behind Paper Plane Communications. There, I have the privilege of building creative strategies and products with clients ranging from award-winning home developers to Olympic athletes to some of the most dedicated, earnest, and hardworking entrepreneurs around.
After years of writing for others, I decided the time was right to carve out a creative corner just for me. If you’ll join me, together we will explore what it means to be a 20-something female in search of adventure and free wifi.
#littlewriterbigworld began as a hashtag, a way of marrying my equal passion for travel and writing. It has now evolved into what you will find here–a collection of things I write, read, taste, see, hear, and think.
Here’s to building a community of creatives without postal codes.
“For mine is a generation that circles the globe and searches for something we haven’t tried before. So never refuse an invitation, never resist the unfamiliar, never fail to be polite and never outstay the welcome. Just keep your mind open and suck in the experience. And if it hurts, you know what? It’s probably worth it.” | Alex Garland
